The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick
Jeremiah 17:9
The following is a brief explanation from a recent sermon given by Pastor Will Vega.
The world tells you to listen and follow your heart. But your heart is the seat of all your loves and desires. And therefore, your heart is not the best guide for your life.

Thanks for your post. This makes for an interesting discussion. Is it possible that, while we need to be humble and submitted to God and His Word, that we can in a sense trust our hearts when we know that we have done all to fix our eyes and mind on Christ? The following passage from Psalm 107 expresses something of what I am attempting to articulate. Blessings to you!
“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. … O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.”
