For those who do not know, Charlie Kirk was killed this week during a political event including open dialogue–a staple of his events.
I must admit I always respected him for what he did despite my not always agreeing with him. He was committed to open dialogue and was a dedicated man of faith and I am going to miss his influence.
Please pray for his family and friends who are most impacted by his wrongful death. Also pray for the country as this does not impact those closest to him alone. America’s bad state is getting worse not better, and this assassination makes that reality all the clearer.
This is a dark moment. Concerningly, the dark moments are happening increasingly.
Be praying.
Be meditating on His Word.
Be crying out to God for His Truth and His direction.
Charlie was and is a fellow image-bearing human being.
Hate is rising. Do not be part of it.
Be counter-cultural.
Love.
Listen.
Care.
Do not be like those who only wish to see downfall. These are evil.
There is so much I could say at a time like this. For now, I will simply say that we must turn to God. We must look to Christ. He is always the answer. Not our human anger. Not our human hate.
I challenge you to meditate on these things. Be the turning point we all need to be.
